Constructive tool


Constructive tools refer to any resources or tools where learners can manipulate any information, construct their own knowledge and visualize their understanding. It helps students to connect new information with their prior knowledge. The word 'constructive' says that these tools enable learner and educators to make certain things such as images or word from which others can visualize and understanding the message that they convey. Constructive tools such as PowerPoint presentation, LMS, simulation, google classroom and Microsoft word are mostly used in educational environment and concept map programs allow learners to brainstorm and visualize their understanding of relationships among a collection of concepts.


Reason for integrating constructive tools in teaching and learning are;
  • encourage active participation from students by moving from passive learning to active learning.
  • it require students to analyze, create and evaluate, fostering critical thinking skills.
  • promote collaboration among students, and allow them to learn form each other developing deeper understanding of the topic.
  • tailor to individual learning style and preferences, allowing students to learn at their own pace

Integrate constructive tools in teaching and learning-Concept map
In order to integrate the constructive tools in teaching and learning, teacher must encourage students to use constructive tools such as concept map before teaching, so that students can understand the concept better.  Concept map are visual representation  of information that are used to organize and represent knowledge or ideas. It consist of concepts connected by lines or arrows that show relationships between them. Concept map helps students to organized information in structured and meaningful way, making complex topics easier to understand. Following image of Cmap are on the topic food chain, science in class IV. By looking at these Cmap, I can get idea about food chain along with what I have known about these topics.   


 




Camtasia video

Camtasia is a software suite, created and published by TechSmith, for creating and recording video tutorails and presentation via screencast, pr via a direct recording plug--in to Microsoft PowerPoint. Other multimedia recordings may be recorded at the same time or added separately. Camtasia is considered as one of the eample of constructive tool because it enables users to create engaging and informative multimedia content such as video tutorials, presentations, and demonstrations.
